Celebrity Gogglebox is REMOVED from catch up sparking claims it’s being re-edited

Celebrity Gogglebox has been removed from the catch up service All4 after Eamonn Holmes criticised the show for omitting a scene of him discussing his father’s death.

Fans took to Twitter to complain the episode had been removed from the online service, in some cases while they were still watching the programme, leading the speculation it’s being re-edited following Friday’s backlash.

It comes after Eamonn took to Twitter to slam the show’s ‘idiotic and cruel choice’ to air a clip of him laughing and joking following a harrowing moment from the BBC series Ambulance, instead of a filmed clip of him discussing his father’s death.

One viewer tweeted: ‘Why has Celebrity Gogglebox just been taken off All4 half way through me watching it plssss.’

Another penned: ‘Watching Celebrity Gogglebox on @All4 and they removed it when it was half way through. Perhaps a re-edit @EamonnHolmes.’

A third also penned: ‘Celebrity Gogglebox isn’t on All4 yet and I’m fuming.’

‘Nah that’s about 3 times I’ve went to watch @All4 shows and they’ve been deleted. I want to watch Celebrity Gogglebox,’ a fan posted.

On Friday Eamonn criticised Celebrity Gogglebox for bosses’ ‘idiotic and cruel’ choice to air a clip of him laughing and joking instead of discussing his father’s death.

The broadcaster hit out in a string of tweets claiming bosses chose to feature him comically reacting to a harrowing moment in BBC’s Ambulance, instead of discussing the moment his father died of a heart attack.

TV veteran Eamonn appeared on the show alongside wife Ruth Langsford, 60, who he presents on This Morning with.

Following the episode, he took to Twitter and shared: ‘In reply to a number of complaints …. I am hurt beyond belief that @C4Gogglebox chose not to use me talking about my Father dying from a heart attack at the side of a road…

‘[They] replace it with a funny story following a young lad giving his Father CPR. Idiotic and cruel edit.’

He then shared: ‘So following a tragedy that has forever haunted my family, I am in no mood for criticising holier than thou mouthpieces on here who haven’t gone through what we did.

‘I had nothing but praise and emotion for the Ambulance control room TV programme. An atrocious edit.’

Finally the star wrote: ‘How my Father died was a particularly horrible experience for my Mother, my younger brother and his friend who were all in the car.

‘The resuscitation in The BBC Ambulance programme was as close as could be to my Dad’s passing. Yet I am the one edited to make it look like a laugh.’

He lost consciousness, and appeared to have died, but the child was amazingly able to resuscitate him with the help of the emergency services call operator.

The show then featured Eamonn discussing the moment he frantically drove his then-pregnant wife Ruth to the hospital in 2002 so she could give birth to their son Jack.

Eamonn said: ‘All I can say is, when your contractions started when you had Jack.

‘I don’t like singing my own praises, but thank goodness I was the ambulance that day, I got you there in the nick of time.’

When Ruth said she still had to give him directions to the hospital he shared: ‘Look, did I get you there? Did you have the child in the hospital under medical supervision?

‘All’s well that ends well, thanks to me.’

Following this viewers at home began tweeting criticism of the ‘insensitive’ moment.

One wrote: ‘@EamonnHolmes comparing taking Ruth to hospital to have a baby – with a 10 year old lad doing chest compressions on his dad that’s just had a heart attack – is beyond belief!’

Another shared: ‘Did Eamonn Holmes just compare driving his wife to hospital to a 10 year old child giving chest compressions to his dying dad on #CelebrityGogglebox? Unreal…’

However, the presenter did not ignore the trolls and instead hit back with: ‘Please read my posts. I’m then expecting an apology or an understanding from you ….. or are you not man enough ?’

In another tweet he penned: ‘I’m devastated that the Boy, the Ambulance Service and my whole family have been hurt by this …. sometimes I despair at decision making in TV.’

However, another viewer decided to tell Eamonn it is ‘not all about’ him in a cruel tweet following him expressing his upset.

They wrote: ‘Not all about you. It’s light entertainment programme.’

To which he curtly replied: ‘Shut up.’

When one viewer chimed in: ‘Hang on now, don’t blame the editors. On a programme like this it’s the Edit Producer who will decide the cut, not the Editor. Be careful who you blame and scapegoat if you don’t know the process.’

Hitting back: Eamonn hit back at many users who criticised him and told one viewer: 'I know the process much better than you I am sure'

Eamonn became enraged and hit back: ‘You are another one who can F**k off …. don’t lecture me on the process. I know the process much better than youI’m sure. For simplicity I don’t need to be an anorak like you ! Technically, you are right but you sound a right bore !’

Another viewer lashed out at Eamonn by sharing: ‘Sorry but you talking about you after a 10 year old saved his dad’s life was very bad taste.’

To which he replied: ‘Read the post… or are you just thick?’

Finally the star decided enough was enough and he told fans he was putting his phone down and going to bed.

He shared: ‘Thank you everyone for seeing what happened tonight. Just awful that it did and that I have had to explain.

‘Anyone who works in The Ambulance Service or who has experienced the impact of Sudden Death will understand. I now need to put my phone down. Goodnight.’

But mere hours later Eamonn went onto retweet more posts from outraged fans, and even responded to one who shared their own sympathies.

One wrote in a series of posts: ‘S.. I have seen @C4Gogglebox and I have to say that is a DISGRACEFUL edit on @EamonnHolmes

‘The edit was awful it was cut short and you could evidently see that Eamonn was using some lighthearted humour and there was more to this story. Sorry #Gogglebox but I’ve Turned off!

‘The edit to me seems to make it look as if Eamonn is just talking about himself. But it is obvious to see that is a bit of banter between a husband and wife..but yet no one else suffered a bad edit

‘I just think it was cruel and unfair on Mr H! @Eamonnholmes.’

In a later post – which Eamonn also retweeted – the user continued: ‘ BUT I am so angry that all the other celebs got to have their say on how #Ambulance staff have helped them BUT talking about his father and Eamonn’s story gets cut out…

‘Naa not fair that #CelebrityGogglebox.’

Another user then penned: ‘Leaving it up and not apologising when it’s something painful and upsetting is pretty heartless.

‘We should recognise when we are wrong and fix our mistakes. Kindness and compassion cost nothing. I’m sorry you are having this experience.’

Speaking out: Eamonn then went onto re-post a message written by a men's charity, adding: 'This about sums up how I feel'

‘Some things, as you know, you can never get over This is a terrible thing that they did to you and your memories tonight.’

Eamonn added: ‘This about sums up how I feel. And for the mob Trending on Twitter, I hope you are big enough , on knowing the true story, to delete your Hate or issue a correction.’
