Posting a throwback photo of herself and Nick to her Instagram on Saturday, she wrote: ‘Nick wrote to me on Valentines Day, ‘The future’s uncertain, the path is not always clear, but with you by my side I walk with no fear.’ It’s day 60 and I miss him more than ever.’

Nick, 41, was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical center in Los Angeles in March with suspected pneumonia.

He had to have his right leg amputated due to complications from the coronavirus and has been on a ventilator for weeks.

He had appeared to have been making some progress of late but then came the news last week that he had developed a new lung infection.

‘I am still praying for a miracle,’ Amanda said on Instagram story. ‘Sometimes that prayer is answered in the way we ask and sometimes it’s answered in a way we could never understand.’

She went on: ‘Faith is a beautiful thing but also, also a hard thing. True faith comes in times where we must trust in God, his plan and his will. In that, I find peace always.’
