The designer of Meghan Markle‘s £280 Love Pendant has revealed that she’s donated £10, 000 from sales of the necklace to Wild at Heart Foundation.

Meghan Markle, 38, who is known for her love of highly personalised jewellery, opted to wear a ‘Love pendant’ by UK-based designer Sophie Lis for her visit to the National Theatre gallery on March 6, which refers to a French poem about enduring and growing love.

And following her appearance in the necklace, which she paired with a £29 organza puff-sleeved blouse from Topshop, sales soared – with the brand donating ten per cent from each purchase to the animal welfare charity.

Taking to Instagram, the designer penned: ‘We are so happy to announce we have donated £10, 000 from sales of love pendants in the past two months to this incredible cause @wild_at_heart_foundation.

With special thanks to @sussexroyal for raising awareness and hence funds for this wonderful charity.’

After sharing a snap of the Duchess of Sussex wearing the necklace, she added: ‘Huge thanks to this amazing lady for raising so much awareness and money to help so many dogs in such desperate need.’

The medallion carries the engraving ‘Qu’hier’ after a diamond encrusted plus sign, and ‘Que Demain’ followed by a ruby minus sign.

Online, Sophie revealed the message is borrowed from the poem ‘The Eternal Song’.

The reference is an an ode from the 19th century French poet Rosemonde Gérard which translates to: ‘Every day I love you more, more than yesterday less than tomorrow.’
