15th-Century north Wales mansion where Kit Harrington threw his stag do goes on sale on £1.65m

A lavish fifteenth century house where Game of Thrones star Kit Harington threw his stag do and homed the same family for ten generations has gone on sale for £1.65million.

This former private stately home, named Eriviat Hall, which is situated a short distance from the village of Henllan, Denbighshire, Wales, has been designed to run as both a private home as well as a wedding venue and house for rent.

The lavish property includes a commercial kitchen, large plant room and coach house, which currently doubles as a function and entertainment room, a nine-seater hot tub and a conservatory.

The house is now on the market with Strutt & Parker for £1,650,000. Game of Thrones star Harington reportedly spent two nights over the May Bank Holiday in 2018 at the property for his stag do with friends and family before his wedding to co-star Rose Leslie.

The reconstruction of the hall dates back to 1856 but it is thought that the site originally was built in 1467. The house was lived in for over 10 generations by the Ffoulkes family on the Estate of Eriviat & Rhydonen. Gronowy ab Leuan, an ancestor of the Ffoulkes family, was known to be a resident at the property between 1501 and 1571.

The last member of the family to reside at the property was Edmund Andrew Ffoulkes, whose initials are located on the fireplaces he renovated. So, you can own a piece of history as well as the impressive venue that spans over nine acres of land. With 12 bedrooms and nine bathrooms, the building is made up of four floors.

‘The impressive entrance hall, with original tiled floor and extensive panelling, provides access to the formal reception rooms on the ground floor,’ the listing states.

Harington reportedly splashed out £4,000 for the stag-do with friends during the sunny weekend in a secret getaway in Wales.

The 33-year-old, who played Jon Snow in the hit HBO series, opted for the ‘Down n’ Dirty’ package during a two night stay at the luxurious Eriviat Hall near Denbigh, North Wales, during the Bank Holiday weekend.

Harington is thought to have gone zip-lining with friends and drank at a country pub in a fun-filled weekend before the wedding. The Londoner was spotted with fellow co-star John Bradley, who played Samwell Tarly in Game of Thrones alongside Harington.

The coach house has been converted into a bona fide party-building that caters for up to 200 guests. Complete with a dance floor, DJ booth, bar and a dining room, you can imagine this is where the fun is to be had in the sprawling mansion.

The magnificent property is listed by Strutt & Parker for £1,650,000 and can be found here.
