‘He is a big fan of archaeology, I’m not necessarily sure if archaeology is what he does for his profession,’ Ben said on the show.

He went on to say that Ian has been a favourite, with the hat instantly gaining him a soft spot with producers.

‘That signature hat that you can see him wearing on the show is a bit of a talking point, a way of him getting to know people,’ he said.

‘Apparently he is a very good conversationalist and from all that I’ve heard apparently he does very well on this upcoming series.’

Daily Mail Australia previously revealed that former AFL player-turned-influencer Daniel Gorringe, 27, is said to be on the new season.

An unsuccessful applicant said that she’d met him during the audition process, and he had ‘made it through to the final round’ to meet with top producers.

Daniel pretty much confirmed his appearance by then failing to post a single update to Instagram between February 5 and April 8, when the show was being filmed.

Days after production wrapped, Daniel returned to social media among confusion from his followers, who were baffled by his unexplained absence.

A COVID-19 scare among the crew forced production to stop for two days in March.

Production was then said to be ‘sped up’ to avoid another shut down, meaning housemates were likely evicted over consecutive days to progress things.
