Sister, Sister alum Marques Houston, 39, weds Miya Dickey, 19, at California golf club

Following a 10-month whirlwind romance, former child star Marques Houston tied the knot with his 19-year-old fiancée Miya Dickey at Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona, California on Monday.

‘We can’t believe the day has finally come!’ the couple wrote in a joint statement on Thursday.

‘The day when the two of us were bonded together before Jehovah to become one. Jehovah has blessed us with a true happiness that is unmatched!’  

The 39-year-old actor-singer donned a white Shaker tuxedo for their special day while his beaming bride wore a white lacy Jomo Patterson wedding gown.

Marques and Miya’s guests included his former IMx bandmates Kelton Kessee and Jerome Jones, Trigger director Chris Stokes, as well as Grammy-nominated R&B belter MAJOR. who serenaded the newlyweds with Why I Love You.

Houston publicly thanked Instagram user @nynalala for introducing him to his ladylove at a Jehovah’s Witness convention, and they reportedly began dating 11 days after she turned 18 in October 2018.

The not-so-typical teenager – who got engaged to the LA native in March 2019 – later admired her five-carat cushion-cut diamond ring via an Instastory captioned: ‘Mrs. Houston.’ 

‘So happy and privileged to call you my husband!’ Miya gushed in an Instagram post Thursday.

‘I love you so much baby, and will always cherish you and be the wife Jehovah wants me to be and the wife you deserve because you deserve nothing but the best. I can’t promise perfection but I can promise that everyday I’ll try to be a better person. I love you, forever isn’t long enough.’

Marques previously defended their 20-year age difference in June 17 post to his 2.9M social media followers where noted his father Michael and all the people closest to him ‘love her.’ 

‘Most importantly we have Jehovah’s blessing,’ Houston – who became a Jehovah’s Witness in 2016 – defended on Instagram.

‘And that’s the story. No twists, no turns, no scandals, just true love. There is nothing that can come to light, because there’s no darkness in my life.’

The Sacrifice actor first found fame – at age 12 – portraying nerdy annoying neighbor Roger Evans for five seasons (1994-98) of ABC/The WB sitcom Sister, Sister starring twins Tia & Tamera Mowry.
