Is this where Katy Perry got her baby name inspiration?

Katy Perry and fiancé Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child together this week, a daughter named Daisy Dove.

And while fans may be speculating where the hit maker got her baby name idea from, Australian radio host Fifi Box set tongues wagging with a telling Instagram post on Thursday. 

Mother-of-two Fifi shared a picture of Katy holding her daughter Daisy Belle, now one, just months before she gave birth, as followers joked that the singer ‘stole’ the sweet name.

The picture was taken in March, when pregnant Katy, 35, was in Australia for a bushfire relief concert. 

‘Congratulations Katy Perry on little Daisy Dove Bloom,’ Fifi’s post was captioned, alongside love heart emojis. 

‘From a few months ago when my Daisy was sitting on top of your Daisy,’ Fifi added. 

Underneath Fifi’s post, fans said that Katy took baby name inspiration from her. 

‘Ha ha I love this. She defo (sic) borrowed the name.’

Another added: ‘She must of loved her so much she used the same name.’

One follower remarked: ‘You had a feeling she’d call her Daisy.’

On Friday, Fifi and her radio co-stars also spoke about the coincidence on the Fifi, Fev & Byron show on Fox FM.

Brendan Fevola said: ‘I think she copied, because we met her and I’ve never seen a woman or any person love someone else’s kid as much as she did.’ 

The radio show also shared footage of the time Katy met Daisy Belle in person.

‘It’s a great name,’ Katy can be heard saying in the clip. 

Fifi remarked: ‘It’s funny Fev, I just had a feeling because you were there and we obviously recorded an interview for the radio. But then I thought when she released a song, I went, “no she wouldn’t do a song and the baby. But we’ve got another Daisy!’

Fans of the American star have already associated the name with Katy following the release of her hit single Daisies in May.

The track, her first release from forthcoming album Smile, has since prompted a series of floral themed posts featuring images of the white petaled plant.

Promoting the song on Instagram at the time, she told followers: ‘I wrote this song a couple months ago as a call to remain true to the course you’ve set for yourself, regardless of what others may think.’ 

‘Recently, it has taken a new meaning for me, in light of what the whole world is experiencing. Each of us is one in more than seven billion, with our own story of strength and resilience to tell.

‘DAISIES is out now. I hope it will be the soundtrack to going for your dreams now… especially the ones we left behind.’

While the track focus’s on empowerment and striving to reach one’s goals, it also features the telling line ‘I guess you’re out of your mind ’til it actually happens’ – perhaps a reference to her first pregnancy. 

The singer confirmed Daisy’s birth in a statement released jointly with Hollywood star Orlando to humanitarian children’s charity UNICEF on Wednesday evening.

‘We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,’ they wrote.

The couple stated that although they are joyously celebrating the birth of their daughter, ‘[they] know [they are] the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as [theirs] was.’
