Chance The Rapper tweets support for Megan Thee Stallion after she accuses Tory Lanez of shooting her: ‘I hope Meg really gets justice’

Chance The Rapper has expressed his support for Megan Thee Stallion after she accused Tory Lanez of being the man who shot her.

‘I hope Meg really gets justice for what Tory did to her,’ wrote Chance, 27, on Twitter this Saturday morning.

‘And that we can all learn from this, how near and constant and serious, the threat of lethal violence and abuse is for every Black woman.’

Chance featured Megan on his 2019 single Handsome and the pair performed the number together on Saturday Night Live last October.

Last month he expressed a desire for a presidential candidate who would ‘abolish the prison system as we know it’ among other goals. 

Megan broke her silence this week to publicly name Tory as the man who shot her, having previously remained mum about the alleged culprit.

Before she made her accusation Tory had already been charged for having had a concealed weapon at the time of the incident.

‘Since you’re all so worried about it, yes, this n**** Tory shot me,’ she said while going Live on Instagram this Thursday.

‘You shot me and you got got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and s**t. Stop lying. Why lie.’

Megan asserted that she did not tell cops the full story on the night of the incident because they were ‘aggressive’ and she ‘didn’t want the police to shoot me.’

She said that although she initially refrained from telling the cops the truth to ‘spare’ Tory she had become ‘tired’ of the rumors circulating about her.

Tory allegedly shot her in both feet in the small hours of the morning on July 12 outside a party in the Hollywood Hills.

Megan was attempting to exit the SUV she and Tory were in only for him to reportedly fire his gun, according to TMZ.

In aerial footage that quickly went viral Megan could be seen leaving bloody footprints on the sidewalk and keeping her hands up for the police, whom she has said drove her to the hospital to have her injuries treated.

After making her accusation against Tory she received support from multiple celebrities including movie stars Halle Berry and Michael B. Jordan.

‘Peace. Protection. Respect. For ALL Black Women. ALWAYS. @theestallion, we stand with you. F**k this sh**. #ProtectBlackWomen,’ Halle tweeted Friday.

Meanwhile Michael tweeted on the same day: ‘Meg I admire your courage and applaud you for speaking up. We must Support Black Women, Protect Black Women, and Believe Black Women. @theestallion.’

In the wake of Megan’s public allegation JoJo has also decided to remove Tory from her album Good To Know which she released in May.
