Married At First Sight: Belinda Vickers never dated 73-year-old security guard

Married At First Sight bride Belinda Vickers has insisted she never had a boyfriend before walking down the aisle with personal trainer Patrick Dwyer.

And her friends have now hit back at claims she lied about her past, after false rumours surfaced that she once dated Melbourne security guard Martin De Bono, 73.

One of Belinda’s close pals told Daily Mail Australia earlier this week the door-to-door saleswoman was only ever friends with Martin, also known as ‘Mr Ugly’.

‘I think it needs to be pointed out that males and females can be friends and there is no age limit to that,’ they said. 

‘Photos of people together are not proof that they’re in a relationship.’

The friend pointed out that pictures of Belinda and Martin together, which were first compiled by the So Dramatic! podcast, were actually taken in group settings. 

Another source close to Belinda told New Idea magazine she and the bouncer were ‘no more than friends’.

Martin’s friends have also denied he ever dated Belinda. 

The latest news comes after photos surfaced this week of the shy bride looking tense during a break from filming in Sydney late last year.

On November 11, Belinda was seen looking on edge during a phone conversation as she left the Skye Suites apartment complex.

The brunette was dressed casually in high-waisted denim shorts and an orange top, which she paired with white sneakers.
