Gemma Collins leaves RuPaul’s Drag Race UK fans feeling underwhelmed

Gemma Collins left RuPaul’s Drag Race UK fans feeling underwhelmed after her appearance on the show’s latest episode on Thursday.

The former TOWIE star, 40, was a guest judge alongside Michelle Visage on the Snatch Game, a fake game show where the competing drag queens impersonate celebrities and answer fill-in-the-blank questions.

Despite many fans being excited to see her, some viewers claimed the GC seemed ‘lifeless’, ‘bored’ and ‘scripted’ while others questioned whether she was ‘forced’ to be on the show as she clearly ‘didn’t want to be there’.

‘You can tell she didn’t want to be on the show!’ Gemma Collins left RuPaul’s Drag Race UK fans feeling underwhelmed after her ‘lifeless’ appearance on the Snatch Game on Thursday

During the Snatch Game, Gemma made several amusing sexual innuendos, albeit with a deadpan expression, that certainly made RuPaul laugh.

One such joke saw RuPaul ask Gemma if she’d eaten any spotted dick lately, to which she cheekily replied she’d had some ‘last night’ with ‘lots of custard’.

In another part of the game show Gemma suggested the word ‘swallow’ when asked to fill-in-the-blank about what a person had to do with a battered sausage to get another for free at a Fish and Chips shop owned by Michelle.

Gemma even took the chance to explain some cheeky British slang to RuPaul, including ‘toss off’ and ‘b**l e*d’.

Tia had portrayed Mel B in the Snatch Game while Lawrence tried to impersonate Miriam Margolyes, however both failed to impress the judges.

After being eliminated, Tia said of the experience: ‘It was honestly amazing! Genuinely like stepping into the television set.

‘The team behind the scenes are all absolute icons. (Shout out to Wendy and the Queen Team!) I’m so grateful for the opportunity, the experience and the critiques.

‘I’ve made some gorgeous friends among the cast! I would do it again in an absolute heartbeat.’

Discussing being eliminated, Tia went on: ‘It was actually alright to be honest! While you’re there, you think the worst thing you could hear is “sashay away”, so when you do eventually hear it there is almost a sense of relief!

‘I’m still ok! I’m still me! Gutted that I couldn’t make it all the way to the end, but so proud of what I did while I was there!’

Looking back, she added: ‘Watching it back I don’t think I noticed how much Ru was in my corner, encouraging me to level up. I’ve heard it now, so get ready for the glow up!’

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK airs every Thursday at 7pm on BBC Three, and can be watched exclusively on BBC iPlayer.
