Gemma Collins has revealed she’s finally moved into her ‘dream home’ after a ‘tough couple of months’ watching her beloved dad Alan battle COVID-19.

The former TOWIE star, 39, took to Instagram on Saturday to share the good news with her fans alongside a snap of her keys and a selection of housewarming gifts.

It comes after Gemma reflected on the terrifying moment she feared her father ‘might not make it’ through his battle with coronavirus, after revealing he’s now in a stable condition in hospital.

In the caption of her Instagram post Gemma said that while she was thrilled to finally have the keys to her new house, she couldn’t focus on her home until her dad had recovered from COVID-19.

She told fans: ‘It’s been a very tough couple of months but some good news today to share I finally got my dream home and now have my keys.

‘I don’t have a clue how I’m going to style it yet but it’s going to be fabulous as soon as my dad is home from hospital and he sees it then my heart ❤️ will be full and I can get cracking.’

Many of Gemma’s celebrity pals including Billie Faiers, Jess Wright, and Love Island’s Amy Hart offered congratulations to their pal as she reached the milestone of owning a house.

Gemma has faced a difficult few months which saw both her parents battle COVID-19, and while her mum has since recovered, her father is still fighting the disease.

On Wednesday the star revealed her father is now ‘in a stable condition’ as she reflected on her family’s battle with the virus. 

‘It literally tears you apart,’ the Essex diva said on the Gemma Collins Podcast.   

‘Our house is not the same without my dad and it has been such a scary time because we just haven’t known how he was going to be. And if he was going to make it…

‘There were moments where we all had to have the chat about you know, what if dad doesn’t pull through.’

Gemma revealed last month that both of her parents had been admitted to hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, as she pleaded with her followers to stay safe and follow the government guidelines. 

She updated her podcast listeners on Wednesday that her father Alan is making steady progress and could return home next week.  

Gemma added: ‘I have had such a distressing time due to both my parents having Covid.

‘I finally got a call from the doctor to say that my dad has been keeping really stable and he is coming down off of his breathing mask. We are hoping to have him home with us next week.’

Reflecting on how the recent events have affected her, Gemma confirmed it has given her a new perspective on life.    

She said: ‘It is the simple things in life that mean the most to you.

‘No amount of money would have saved my dad and when I was faced with the news of my dad you know might not make it in the hospital, it just really puts things into perspective.’
