Gugu Mbatha-Raw to star in Apple TV+ psychological thriller Surface produced by her This Morning Show co-star Reese Witherspoon
She co-starred with Reese Witherspoon in The morning Show for Apple TV+.
And now Witherspoon is producing a series for the premium streamer with Gugu Mbatha-Raw as the lead.
The British actress, 37, will star in psychological thriller Surface that’s been given an eight-episode order by Apple, THR.com reported Monday.

Plot details are reportedly being kept tightly under wraps and production is expected to begin early in 2021.
Witherspoon is producing through her Hello Sunshine company which also handles Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told with Octavia Spencer that’s currently filming a second season as well as the reality competition My Kind of Country.
Mbatha-Raw will also serve as a co-executive producer on the show that’s being made in association with Apple Studios.

The series is based on an idea by Veronica West who co-created Hulu’s female reboot of High Fidelity starring Zoe Kravitz.
Mbatha-Raw’s Hollywood credits include Free State of Jones, Miss Sloane, The Cloverfield Paradox, A Wrinkle In Time and Motherless Brooklyn.
She’ll next be seen in the Disney+ Marvel series Loki.
