The image comes after Sylvia reflected on her fertility struggles as she prepares to welcome her second child with husband Peter Stefanovic, 38.

‘We’re so thrilled after not the easiest path first time around; we’re grateful for this gift, another boy,’ she recently told Today Extra viewers, reports TV Week magazine.

‘Two boys under two is going to be wild if you have any advice how to handle the chaos, let me know,’ she said.

Speaking to TV Week last month, the Channel Nine personality also spoke about her experience as a first-time mother, after welcoming Oscar in February.

‘No-one can describe the overwhelming feeling of joy, and this new kind of love, that takes over after having a baby,’ she said.

Sylvia first revealed that she underwent IVF to conceive Oscar during an emotional segment on Today Extra earlier this month.

Sylvia was speaking to mother Brooke Campbell about IVF treatment and the ‘daunting and overwhelming’ decision of what to do with leftover frozen embryos once a family no longer wants to use them.

As Brooke discussed the options available, a clearly-emotional Sylvia said: ‘Brooke, I know from my personal experience with IVF that so much goes into having a successful embryo.’

As she fought through tears, she continued: ‘…and having something sitting there that gives you the opportunity to make life for your family. How are you and your husband coping?’

Alongside Brooke on the panel was IVF specialist Dr Ric Gordon, who outlined the four options available for unwanted frozen embryos – storing, donating to science, donating to a couple and disposal.

Clearly still emotional, Sylvia continued: ‘It’s such a fascinating topic, and Brooke obviously something so raw for you right now, so thank you very much for sharing.’

What is IVF?

IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) is a procedure by which an egg and sperm are joined together in a specialised laboratory.

The fertilized egg grows in a protected environment for some days, before it is transferred into the woman’s uterus and thus increasing the chance of pregnancy.

According to the IVF Australia, the success rates range from 34.9 per cent per embryo transfer leading to a live birth for patients under 30 years, to 8.7 per cent for patients over 40 years.

Health insurer Bupa says the typical cost for one IVF cycle is $8000 to $10,000, with Medicare covering around 48%.

‘The silver lining in having unused embryos is that you’ve had your miracles. You’ve had your babies. So that’s the beautiful part of it,’ she added.

At the end of the segment, Sylvia’s co-host David Campbell asked if she was alright, before giving her a supportive touch on the hand.

Sylvia and husband Peter have made no previous comments on their struggles with infertility.

They announced they were expecting their first child in August 2019 – two years after getting married – writing on Instagram: ‘We’re having a baby boy and we’re totally over the moon!!’
