The actor, 72, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday to chat about his recent knee surgery, his podcast, and the much-anticipated reopening of theatres amid the pandemic.

And amidst the chat, he revealed all about his personalised stick.

Oh my! Christopher Biggins has a walking stick made from a kangaroo testicle

Telling Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard about a woman who approached him at the Edinburgh Festival a few years ago, he said: ‘She said, “my husband makes walking sticks and he’s made one and the handle is a testicle of a kangaroo…”

‘And I said, how lovely! So I have this now!’

Describing the niche mobility aide, he went on: ‘It’s a lovely feel to it as you’re walking along.

‘They mounted it on a very nice stick. I don’t use it all the time!’

Kate was sure to point out that this was surely a nod to his time on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! which saw him chowing down on bizarre body parts of animals.

Elaborating on his knee surgery, Biggins went on: ‘I’ve had a new knee put in. I had an epidural – I’m glad because I didn’t want to see them hammering away or seeing bits of knee coming out.’

He also expressed how ‘wonderful’ it is that theatres are opening up after 18 dark months.

‘I have been to three shows in the last week alone!’ he gushed.

Biggins explained how lockdown was ‘easy’ for him at first.

‘The first lockdown was easy as it was lovely to be at home and not be out all the time. I was treasuring it,’ he said. ‘My partner Neil was cooking and it became a pleasure.

‘The second [lockdown] – we’d had enough by then.’

He also berated the UK government for seemingly shunning the arts amid the pandemic.

‘Us actors have not got a penny from the government – nor have theatres! In America they’re getting billions.

‘I saw Phantom Of The Opera the other night – it was the first time it was a full house and it was wonderful.’

He hopes he’ll be well enough to take part in panto Jack And The Beanstalk later in the year, after it was cancelled last Christmas.

‘It was terrible! I hope to be well in time for doing it this year!’ he said.

Good Morning Britain airs on ITV on weekdays between 6:00AM and 9:00AM.
