Usain Bolt reveals he ‘definitely wants to marry’ partner Kasi Bennett and says parenting one-month-old twins Thunder and Saint is ‘pandemonium’

He announced the birth of his twin sons Thunder and Saint Leo on Father’s Day last month.

And Usain Bolt, who is also proud dad to Olympia Lightning, 14 months, says he is getting used to being a father-of-three young children.

In an interview with The Mirror, the fastest man in history talked about family life and how he hopes to marry his partner of six years, model Kasi Bennett ‘in the future’.

Usain Bolt has revealed he ‘definitely wants to marry’ partner Kasi Bennett and says parenting one-month-old twins Thunder and Saint, and daughter Olympia, 14 months, is ‘pandemonium’

Speaking about his children’s interesting choice of names, Usain, 34, said: ‘The rule was, when we were expecting Olympia, that if we had a girl Kasi got to name her.

‘And if a boy, I got to name them. So that’s how it worked out. She wasn’t too hot on Thunder Bolt. But then she was like, ‘All right, let’s do it”.’

And the Olympian said parenting is much harder than holding the world record as the fastest sprinter in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.

He said: ‘Listen, three babies for sure. When they start crying all together, it’s like pandemonium. You don’t know what to do. So it’s difficult but it’s so worth it.’

Usain went on to say Kasi ‘wanted to have a quiet pregnancy’ so there would be ‘less stress and attention on her’.

The athlete said he can’t wait to watch his three children grow up and, with big names to live up to, see if they will follow in his footsteps on the track.

Of his relationship with Kasi, Usain said he was ‘definitely going to get married in the future, for sure’.

Elsewhere in the interview, the sprinter touched upon racism English footballers Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka experienced online after missing penalties in the Euros 2020 final.

He said the trio ‘have a bright future ahead of them’ and it’s ‘really sad’ they have received such hatred as they are so talented.

Usain, the only sprinter to win the 100m and 200m golds at three consecutive Olympics, specifically 2008, 2012 and 2016, is widely considered the greatest sprinter of all time.

He retired after the 2017 world championships in London where he suffered a hamstring injury in the final race of his career.

Speaking before Olympia’s arrival in 2020, Usain said he would not encourage his children to follow in his footsteps

The retired sportsman said: ‘That’s going to be hard for my kid. If they want to do it, I’m fine with it. But initially I’m going to say don’t do it, because I know the pressure that will come along with it.’
