Rebecca Gibney teases a VERY drastic hair transformation amid Sydney’s lockdown

Actress Rebecca Gibney teases a VERY drastic hair transformation as she ditches her signature blonde locks in favour of a sultry brunette ‘do

Packed to the Rafters star Rebecca Gibney has teased a dramatic hair transformation with her thousands of Instagram followers.

On Wednesday, the 56-year-old shared a photo of herself rocking her usual blonde waves, before quickly sharing another of her locks dyed a dark chocolate brown.

‘Workshopping a new character look,’ she captioned the first image, which showed her staring blankly at the camera while sporting a bold red lipstick.

What a difference! On Wednesday, Rebecca Gibney shared a picture of herself rocking her usual blonde locks, before posting a second of her hair dyed a dark chocolate brown

‘Or maybe she’s brunette,’ the New Zealand-born star wrote on the next, showing her with the same red lip colour yet with her hair a gorgeous shade of brown.

While she may just have been using a cleverly placed filter to alter the colour of her locks, the new look certainly suited the actress’ complexion perfectly.

It’s unclear where Rebecca, who lives in Dunedin, New Zealand, is currently located, as she only wrapped filming MasterChef Australia on July 10.

In June, Rebecca revealed the reason she decided to sign up for the show was because her 17-year-old son Zac had begged her to do it.

She told The Daily Telegraph: ‘[Zac] said ‘Mum, you could make your banging spag bol and you do a really good roast chook’ – I’m going ‘Mate, it’s the MasterChef kitchen, you don’t do a spag bol!”

Zac was quick to whip out the ultimate technique in getting her to sign up – saying he’d think so was cool for doing so, as it’s the ‘only reality show I watch’.

After he told his mother that MasterChef ‘had cred’, Rebecca continued: ‘So, all of a sudden I’ve got cred because I’m doing MasterChef – forget Halifax, forget Packed to the Rafters and forget Wanted.’

Rebecca doesn’t seem to think her minimal talents in the kitchen will go far, adding: ‘It’s so stressful that I have already laid down on the floor and cried and I’ve only cooked twice.’

Channel 10 announced the full cast list last month, with contestants including Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Tilly, Offspring actor Matthew Le Nevez and fashion designer Collette Dinnigan.

They will appear alongside Olympic hero Ian Thorpe, former AFL star Nick Riewoldt, singer Dami Im and comedian Dilruk Jayasinha.

Radio personality Chrissie Swan and retired soccer player Archie Thompson are also set to compete on the program.
