Chef Peter Gilmore sent MasterChef Australia fans into a frenzy after presenting the contestants with his new Golden Crackle dessert during Tuesday night’s finale.

The treat is a perfectly shaped gold dome filled with rice crispies, which have been ‘hand-coated individually in four different chocolates.’

And now, fans of the show can taste the incredible dessert at the iconic Bennelong restaurant at the Sydney Opera House, but you’ll have to fork out $185.

The Golden Crackle dessert can only be purchased for $15 as part of the restaurant’s $170 three-course a la carte menu.

Peter revealed on MasterChef on Tuesday, the dish ‘took three months to develop… there’s a lot of complexity in there.’

It has rice crispies as well as six layers of chocolate cake, mousse, whipped caramel cream, prune jam, salted oloroso caramel and dark chocolate ganache inside it.

The dome is made from a potato starch sheet and gold leaf.

MasterChef’s final three contestants Justin Narayan, Kishwar Chowdhury and Pete Campbell had to re-create the dessert.

But Justin managed to beat out tattoo artist and home cook Pete, and stay-at-home mother Kishwar.

‘I feel incredibly honoured and humbled to have that title and to be able to win this competition,’ he said.

‘I’m genuinely going to take a week to process this and let it sink in, and then I’ll, like, write you an email, let you know how I feel.’

Justin took home a whopping $250,000 in prize money, along with the coveted MasterChef trophy.
