Atomic Kitten have reunited for the first time in 15 years as they recorded a special version of their hit single Whole Again for Euro 2020

Natasha Hamilton, 38, Liz McClarnon, 40 and Jenny Frost, 43, released a reimagining of their hit 2000 single, titled Southgate You’re The One (Football’s Coming Home Again), ahead of England’s semi-final against Denmark on Wednesday night.

The trio were spotted outside Capital Radio studios in Leicester Square holding up the England flag before enthusiastically breaking out into song and dance with brass band Hyde Park Brass.

Back together! Atomic Kitten (L-R Natasha Hamilton, Liz McClarnon and Jenny Frost) have reunited for the first time in 15 years to record a special version of Whole Again for Euro 2020

The girls went on air with Roman Kemp on Capital Radio to speak about their newly recorded song, before singing along with listeners.

They also appeared on Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden’s Heart Breakfast show on the same day, where they told the presenters that it was the first time they worked together in 15 years.

‘It’s been a whirlwind couple of days, but we are super excited and grateful to be able to contribute to the awesome energy and patriotism that is filling the England Streets with this version of Whole Again,’ the band said in a statement.

Their new song features a cheeky line about feeling fired up by England manager Gareth Southgate.

‘Southgate you’re the one, you still turn me on,’ the girls crudely sing.

‘Football’s coming home again.’

Fans were lovingly chanting the track back in 2018 when England faced Russia in the World Cup.

The man behind the original lyrics, Andy McCluskey, previously revealed the band contemplated recording the Southgate version three years ago.

He said in 2018: ‘The Kittens are really chuffed and are actually considering remaking the single with the England lyrics.’

‘Any time something you’ve created becomes widely accepted is humbling and touching. I wonder who made that first connection by starting to sing it, and suddenly everyone was doing it.”
