Advertising agency M&C Saatchi flies the flag for return to the office

M&C Saatchi calls for staff to return to the office: Ad agency which helped Joe Biden to the White House says it is ‘vital’ for the industry

The advertising agency which helped Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris win the US election wants staff to return to the office.

M&C Saatchi boss Moray MacLennan said it was vital for his industry – and that he wants his employees to come in for three days out of five during the week.

MacLennan, 59, said: ‘There is a huge war for talent going on at the moment and part of that is the experience of being at work, seeing other people and being stimulated and engaged. So coming into the office is critical to our business and I think it will come back strongly.’

Victory: Advertising agency M&C Saatchi’s work last year included campaigns for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s US presidential bid and tourism campaigns for Iceland and Indonesia

Last year, M&C’s work included campaigns for Joe Biden’s US presidential bid and to boost tourism in Iceland and Indonesia.

It also won business from Barclays, Kia, Tiktok and other brands.

But it still reported an £8.3million loss for 2020 after revenues fell 12 per cent to £225.4million. Losses narrowed from £17.2million the previous year.

Analysts are predicting it will post full-year revenue of £224.8million and £13.6million profit this year.
