The Hills star Kaitlynn Carter says she and beau Kristopher Brock began conversation about kids ‘very early’ in their courtship… after making surprise pregnancy announcement

It didn’t take long for The Hills: New Beginnings star Kaitlynn Carter and boyfriend Kristopher Brock to start talking about building a family.

During an appearance on Thursday’s episode of the Hillscast podcast, Carter dished about her pregnancy and why they decided to broach the subject of family and children early in their courtship.

‘When I began dating again, I knew that it was really important to me to find somebody who had the same goals and wanted the same things in life that I did,’ she confessed.

‘So, we got to the conversation about having kids and where we stood with all of that very quickly.’

The couple, who began dating in May of 2020, went public with their pregnancy news by posting a silhouette photo of herself and Brock on Instagram on June 17.

In the snap, their shadows are prominent on a rock wall, with Carter’s baby bump on full display.

The reality star, 32, said it took some time to process the exciting news when she found out she was expecting her first child.

‘It’s something that I wanted for so long, that when I found out that I was actually pregnant, I was really surprised, in a good way of course,’ she confessed.

‘It took me a while to really absorb it. I’m just really excited. I’ve been really lucky — I haven’t had sickness or anything like that.’

The couple met through a mutual friend while Carter was staying at the Surfrider Hotel in Malibu last summer.

‘We did a little outdoor dinner and it worked out,’ she added.

‘It wasn’t so much the timing as the right person coming along,’ Carter said in a likely reference to former partner and The Hills co-star Brody Jenner, whom she dated for five years.

The former couple decided to ‘amicably separate’ in August 2019, just one year after their Indonesian wedding, which was later deemed to not be a legally binding union in the U.S.

Brock, a 30-year-old fashion designer, is already father to six-year-old son Charlie Wright from his marriage to Brock Collection co-founder Laura Vassar, which ended in 2019.
