Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou casts doubt on her acting future

Home and Away veteran Ada Nicodemou has cast doubt on her acting future.

The 44-year-old beloved actress spoke to Mamamia on Tuesday, and said she doesn’t always see acting as part of her life. 

‘I still don’t know whether I want to act. I always go, “I’m acting at the moment”,’ she told the publication’s No Filter podcast.  

‘I don’t know whether it’s something I’ll continue to do,’ she added.  

Ada, who has played Leah Patterson on the long-running drama since 2000, then went on to cast doubt on her acting abilities.

‘I just feel like it’s something that I’ve done naturally, but I haven’t trained for it, and someone’s going to realise that I’m not that great,’ she said. 

Ada went on to confirm that her contract for the series has been renewed, so she won’t be leaving the show in the near future.  

Ada’s admission comes after she revealed her nine-year-old son Johnas Xipolitas might follow in her acting footsteps. 

Talking to Now To Love in April, Ada said: ‘Jonas loves to perform, loves to be in front of the camera and loves to dance.’ 

‘I keep telling him that he needs to go off and do something else. He was saying to me just yesterday: “Well, if I’m not going to be an international soccer payer mum, I think I’m going to be an actor.” And I’m like ‘Oh, OK great! So one really hard industry into the other.’

Ada shares her son with her ex-husband Chrys Xipolitas. The couple married in 2007 and split in 2016.  

She is now in a long-term relationship with boyfriend Adam Rigby.
