Kyle Sandilands reveals if he’d ever return to TV and the shocking amount of money he was offered to be cast on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Kyle Sandilands has focused on cultivating an incredibly successful radio career over the past two decades.

And while he’s had several stints on TV shows over the years, the shock jock revealed if he would ever return to the small screen on the latest installment of Samantha Armytage’s podcast, Something To Talk About.

Speaking on the eve of his 50th birthday, he explained that he does not get ‘a thrill’ out of TV as he does with radio.

Never saying never: Kyle Sandilands told Samantha Armytage on her podcast that he ‘wouldn’t say no to TV’ following stints on shows like Australian Idol and X-Factor in the past

‘It’s live, it happens, once you’ve said it it’s done. No one else can edit it out.’

He explained that TV opportunities – with shows like Australian Idol and X-Factor – were exciting, but pointed out the TV production process frustrated him.

‘It was fun, Idol was fun, X-Factor was fun. All those shows, but it takes forever (to film). One hour of Idol, it take four days non-stop filming,’ he said.

‘And then someone else decides what’s funny. That’s what I didn’t like, that someone editing. I’d watch and I think “oh, I said something that I thought was better that, but someone else has edited it”,’ he added.

No way! Kyle went on to reveal that he was asked to join Channel Ten's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! but said it was something he would 'never do'. Recalling a call with one of the show's producers, he said: 'They offered me $1.4million to go over to the jungle and I said no'

But if presented with another opportunity to be on TV he said: ‘I wouldn’t say no to TV.’

He then went on to reveal that he was asked to join Channel Ten’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! but said it was something he would ‘never do’.

Recalling a call with one of the show’s producers, he said: ‘Like “do you want to go and sit in the jungle for three weeks with Casey Donovan and eat worms?” No! I do not want to do this thing.

He continued: ‘I’ll give you one million dollars, I said no,’ leaving Samantha shocked at the offer.

‘They offered me $1.4million to go over to the jungle and I said no, and then they gave Warnie (Shane Warne) $2million and I was like “oh well, f*** you forever”,’ he added.

‘They offered me a million for three weeks work. But there’s no way I’m going to do that. I’d rather not do it,’ he said of the offer to join I’m A Celebrity.

The shock jock added that he also chose to decline the offer because he was busy with radio survey and did not want to fly ‘all the way’ to Africa.
