Raye explained to Rollercoaster magazine: ‘It’s been really tricky, but also really brilliant and positive. Professionally I’ve had some really big songs over lockdown. I’ve had two Top 10 hits, so it’s been really great from that perspective.

‘But at the same time I’ve found it mentally really hard. The first lockdown I didn’t really do much writing for my own project, just lots of promo, finishing off songs and then writing for other artists. I wasn’t really inspired to write for myself. Then 2021 started and I started making an album.’

She added that it’s been ‘bittersweet’, adding that everyone has had to ‘sacrifice something.’
