‘I was driving along the road at night time at about nine o’clock at night,’ Grant recalled. ‘[I] noticed a couple of very strange lights hovering in the sky, and they were too bright to be stars or planets.’

The father of three described the five dots, making up two groups, as ‘bright as a plane but not moving at all’.

When questioned by Ross whether they were satellites and not a UFO sighting, Grant stressed that it was definitely ‘not satellites’.

‘I believe what I saw was some form of UFO,’ he claimed, adding how he kept the sighting a secret for a while as ‘you’re considered a bit of a wack job’.

Grant has now done a full 180, appearing on national television to say that he doesn’t care what people think as he knows what he saw.

‘What I saw was real. There were about five lights, and when one left the group to join the others, they hovered there for probably another 10 seconds, and then both groups just went “voom” together and just disappeared,’ he said, while making a dramatic gesture with his hands.

Across the globe there have been numerous claims by people who have recalled seeing what they believe to be a UFO – Unidentified Flying Objects – or alien life.
