Paddy McGuinness and Danny Dyer ‘to star in remake of football anthem Vindaloo for Euro 2020’ alongside Keith Lemon, Will Mellor and Bez


Football fans are looking forward to the Euro 2020 competition later this month. 

And to add to the highly-anticipated sporting event, Paddy McGuinness, 47, and Danny Dyer, 43, are rumoured to be featured in a remake of the football anthem Vindaloo. 

It comes as earlier this week comedian Keith Lemon, actor Will Mellor and Happy Mondays star Bez were seen shooting scenes for the reboot video in Hoxton, London.

The group was spotted on Tuesday filming scenes for the new charity music video called Vindaloo Part Two, which has been supported and backed by Deliveroo to raise funds for the NHS. 

At the time more celebrity faces were rumoured to appear in the video of the 1998 World Cup song, with one source claiming the song includes Danny and Paddy. 

They told The Sun: ‘Danny and Paddy are secret stars of the Vindaloo re-recording.

‘They laid down their lyrics in a studio at the end of last month but their schedules couldn’t allow them to make filming.

‘But it’s obvious who sings what lines in the track and the new version sounds brilliant.’

MailOnline has contacted Paddy and Danny’s representatives for comment.  

The new video is believed to be similar to that of the original by Fat Les which saw a large group walking down an England street with a range of famous faces such as David Walliams and Matt Lucas.

The British band formed in 1998 and was made up of Blur bassist Alex James, actor Keith Allen and artist Damien Hirst. 

The popular football anthem reached No.2 in the charts in 1998. 

The Euros competition begins on Friday, with England’s first game against Croatia on Sunday.
