A mother has made an epic ‘Dinoland’ garden for her son – and managed to save £4,000 by using bargains from Facebook Marketplace.
Kellimarie House, 35, from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, made her five-year-old son Bryson’s dreams come to life as she transformed her garden into a dinosaur paradise.
She noticed her decking had started rotting, which gave her a 12 by 12 foot area to create a Dinoland for her son, who has always been ‘obsessed’ with dinosaurs.
Speaking to Latest Deals, she said her inspiration came from browsing Facebook groups after noticing people hanging decorative curtains in their gardens.

‘Fortunately I was able to find some amazing dinosaur shower curtains for just £12 each,’ she explained.
The rest of the supplies were also cheaply sourced, including boulders, a rockery and edging stones for free from Facebook Marketplace.
She added she also purchased sand there for £20, and the total cost of her renovations came to a bargain £222.
The assistant practitioner for the NHS added: ‘The four garden dinosaurs were just £16 from Olive and Sage. They came under a buy two get one free deal.

‘I bought my two Phoenix palms from B&Q. These were also a fantastic deal, as in most places they are sold for over £30 each. I got mine in a 2 for £14 offer.
Using her old decking, thrifty Kellimarie created planters, which cut down costs for new screws.
She added the ‘most expensive part was the grass’ and purchased the Orlando variety from Grass Direct, which was £160.
Creating the floor space was her biggest task because she first cemented in the edging stones, filled in the area with stone and levelled it off with sand before laying down the grass.
When her son was two, Kellimarie had built him a smaller version of Dinoland, by joining wood together and making a square for him to play in, but he has since outgrown it.

She filled the two by three foot square with compost and herbs, and the crafty mother even added a volcano to the scene, by painting an old plant pot black.
Now, Kellimarie has a brilliant outdoor space for her son, with over 15 dinosaurs of various sizes roaming the area.
The garden also features a collection of rockery, and a selection of herbs growing in a planter to the side.
She has also added an egg chair with blankets and cushions to make the space relaxing.
To complete the look, the savvy homeowner added various plants and bright flowers which brightened up the space and transformed the area.
