A man who travelled 120 miles for a first date only to be stood up has gone viral after he documented his ordeal in a TikTok video. 

Craig Moffat, 21, took a three-hour train from Edinburgh to Aberdeen to meet the woman, who was not named, at an upmarket restaurant. 

After 35 minutes his date still hadn’t arrived and Craig accepted she wasn’t coming. He ordered himself a plate of food before making the journey back home. 

Mr Moffat, who has been single for two years, filmed clips of his journey and edited them into a single clip, which he uploaded on TikTok.

The video has been viewed more than 4million times, with viewers offering words of support and comfort to Mr Moffat.

He treated himself to a First Class ticket and enjoyed a bottle of Coke on the journey.

The video shows the table set for two with menus placed on one side. 

The next update shows Mr Moffat, who is smartly dressed in a shirt, tie and waistcoat, looking around the restaurant with a caption revealing: ‘It’s been 35 minutes and she still hasn’t shown up…’

The video then cuts to the food Mr Moffat ordered himself, which appears to be chicken tenders followed by a fresh fruity dessert.

More than 500,000 viewers ‘liked’ the video and thousands have shared words of encouragement. One posted: ‘She doesn’t deserve you mate, you’ll find the one.’
