Mike Posner announces that he has successfully summited Mount Everest after months of training and preparation

Mike Posner announced that he had successfully summited Mount Everest through a post shared to his Twitter account on Tuesday.

The Cooler Than Me singer, 33, noted that he had made the trek with a group of other mountaineers and that they had reached the top of the world’s tallest mountain in the early hours of the morning.

The songwriter is no stranger to physically exhausting ventures, as he completed a successful journey across the United States on foot in 2019.

Posner began the message by listing the names of his co-climbers and commented that the rising sun was unlike anything he’s seen before.

He wrote, ‘This morning at 4:35 am, Dawa Chirring Sherpa, Jon Kedrowski, Dawa Dorje Sherpa and Mike Posner summited Mt Everest. That’s what I call a sunrise.’

The Please Don’t Go singer went on to note that he and his group were still taking their descent very seriously and that they were grateful for the well-wishes of his followers.

‘We are now back at camp 2 but not out of the woods until we descend to base camp tomorrow am. Please keep us in your prayers,’ he concluded.

Posner initially announced that he would be attempting to summit Mount Everest in March on his Twitter account.

In the message, the songwriter pointed out that he would be embarking on the journey in an effort to raise funds for the Detroit Justice Center, which focuses on justice reform in the singer’s hometown.

He regularly updated his followers with photos and videos that were taken during his training process, which he began in locations such as Pakistan and Colorado.

The hitmaker finally arrived in Nepal in early April and continued to share plenty of content that he had filmed and photographed during his ascent before announcing that he had reached the mountain’s peak.

Posner did not share any photos or videos from the top of the world’s highest peak.

The singer previously completed a walk across the length of the continental United States in 2019, during which he sustained a rattlesnake bite that caused him to be hospitalized for several weeks.

After the end of the journey, the hitmaker spoke to Time and expressed that he took the trip in an effort to grow as a person and to become his own hero.

He said, ‘I spent a lot of my life trying to make things as comfortable as possible. In the walk, I was trying to do the opposite. What happens then is that you become a better, harder, more authentic version of yourself.’

Posner also elaborated on how he came to view the country in a new way and gained an affection for living outside of a major city, which he had done for most of his life up to that point.

‘You know how when someone takes a trip someplace and comes back they say, “It was beautiful!” Maybe it sounds trite, but at some point I realized: every place was beautiful,’ he expressed.
