The Veronicas blast Celebrity Apprentice again in deleted Twitter rant

The Veronicas’ Jess and Lisa Origliasso are still furious with Channel Nine and the producers of Celebrity Apprentice Australia.

Just a day after publicly slamming the show’s editing, the 36-year-old twins took aim at Nine’s publicity department on Thursday for its response to their complaints.

The pair fired off a since-deleted tweet hitting back at the network, and even accused the show of being a ‘scripted drama’.

Not holding back: The Veronicas’ Jess and Lisa Origliasso are still furious with Channel Nine and the producers of Celebrity Apprentice Australia

‘Celebrity Apprentice making a comment that we are “featured more heavily” in upcoming episodes – a.k.a the episodes where we are given scripted drama, but the first episodes where we tell our story / strategy [and] win tasks were completely dismissed so the viewers only get to see us as drama. As per usual,’ they tweeted.

While this post was later deleted from their joint Twitter account, the sisters went on to tweet about why they’d signed up for the show in the first place: to raise money for The Brain Foundation, a charity funding research into neurological disorders.

Their mother, Colleen, was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2018, a rare neurological condition similar to Alzheimer’s disease.

‘We came on the show to raise money for charity and awareness for The Brain Foundation. We didn’t need to do this show for exposure,’ they wrote.

‘We signed on after they stressed and emphasised it would be a show with heart, given we had to take physical time away from our mama to do it.’

The pair added: ‘Everyone knows us fighting is part of our brand – that doesn’t bother us. What does is bringing us onboard under the pretence of heart – then editing out why were there in the first place / our love for our team – leaving us only with drama. Our charity deserved so much more.’

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.

The duo’s social media spray comes after they slammed the editing on the show and their portrayal in another Twitter rant on Wednesday.

Jess and Lisa said Nine was only showing the ‘drama’ and not focusing on their achievements or efforts to raise money for their chosen charity.

‘Why are you not airing any of our wins and strategy for each task, only using the scripted drama you GAVE us as the only airtime / promo?’ Jess and Lisa tweeted from their joint account, which has more than 132,000 followers.

‘Where’s all the footage where we pull through for our team/and for our charity? Why is all of that being edited out?’ they added.

Nine declined to comment when contacted by Daily Mail Australia; however, the network confirmed The Veronicas will get more airtime in future episodes.

But others questioned the duo’s expectations when they signed up for a reality show.

‘TBH this was to be expected, it’s reality TV after all,’ one Twitter user remarked. ‘Are you guys surprised? All TV shows are like this,’ another added.

During Sunday’s season premiere of Celebrity Apprentice, tensions ran high as Jess and Lisa had a sisterly spat during a piece to camera.

Jess was discussing professional surfer and Instagram star Alex Hayes, explaining he had chosen to invite a friend over to help him during an art challenge.

Lisa whispered to Jess, suggesting she re-word her statement that Alex was ‘just doing his own thing’.

‘Can you just say it, please? My patience is getting thin, so if you know what needs to be said, please say it,’ Jess snapped.

‘It’s not important that I say this,’ she added angrily.

‘Okay. I’m just letting you know something. You’re being a bit much,’ Lisa shot back.

‘I’m irritated!’ an exasperated Jess answered, waving her hands around and making aggressive gestures.

‘All I need is for you to say it rather than tell me how to say it. Do you understand?’ she demanded.

Later in the episode, the sisters mended fences and worked hard on creating a hand-painted guitar for charity, and performing at the auction.

The instrument was one of the hits of the night, and sold for a whopping $60,000.
