Matthew Perry has left the celeb video service Cameo – where he charged $999 for a 20-second message – amid speculation over his condition after he was seen slurring words both in his Cameo clips and in a promotional clip for the upcoming Friends reunion.

The 51-year-old actor began his Cameo service, in which fans can pay for personalized messages from celebs, late last year, according to a report from The Sun detailing the course of events.

The Williamstown, Massachusetts native was seen in one clip published on the site in which he had kind words for a fan named Rachel about her birthday and engagement.

Perry was recently the subject of speculation after he appeared in an interview alongside David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc last week with People, with some fans speculating he had slurred his words and seemed out of it.

Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the NBC smash hit, has past dealt with substance abuse issues, including stints in rehab in 1997 and 2001.

A source told The Sun that the reason Perry had just undergone ’emergency dental surgery’ in the chat, which was filmed in April.

Perry ‘turned up to the reunion,’ a source told the outlet, ‘and members of his team said that he had an emergency tooth procedure that day.

‘That was said to impact his well being and also how he was feeling. He had been in pain from what we understand, which caused the slurred speech. Obviously no one wants to film after a procedure, but it happened.’

The source noted that Perry ‘has told those around him that he is sober, and there is no need to worry.’

Friends: The Reunion Special, hosted by James Corden, explores the characters of the show, which ran on NBC from 1994 thru 2004.

The special faced delays of more than a year as result of the coronavirus. It debuts Thursday on HBO Max.
