Interviewer Mark Heyes told Emma: ‘How has lockdown been for you? You’re now a mummy which is amazing.’

The La La Land star replied: ‘It’s very, very exciting. I feel lucky with what lockdown has been but it has been an insane year.’

According to TMZ, who have obtained a ‘copy of the birth certificate’, the star chose the name, Louise Jean McCary, as a sweet tribute to her grandmother, who is called Jean Louise.

When asked by Mark Heyes if she felt intimated taking over the role for Glenn, 74.

Emma replied: ‘At first I felt a great amount of pressure, but then I remembered when I played Sally in Cabaret in 2014, and that was one of the most scary moments because the list of actresses who have played that role is insane.

‘I realised the only way I can actually do this is to completely forget that and just think about Cruella. I can’t watch performances by Glenn Close.

‘I have to create an entirely new character and obviously it won’t even touch what she did, I mean of course she’s Glenn Close.’

Elsewhere during the interview, the pair said they had ‘so much fun’ playing their evil characters.

Emma S said: ‘Can you imagine if that wasn’t fun to play? I mean just the opportunity to really dig into the darkest, darkest parts is really cool.’

Meanwhile Thompson, 62,  joked the underwear she had to wear beneath her character’s costume was ‘like a torture item’.

Asked if her underwear was uncomfortable, Emma T said: ‘Oh I mean like a torture item. I don’t like wearing underwear full stop. I stopped wearing underwear a long time ago. It’s not my scene.

‘The underwear that was required to turn me into that shape was what can only be described as industrial.’
