Chris Taylor has admitted he preferred ex-girlfriend Maura Higgins when she was ‘less glam’ in an awkwardly timed new interview.
The Love Island stars, who confirmed their romance in November, announced they had split up earlier this month and said they will ‘remain friends’.
However, the exes appeared on the latest episode of Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow which was filmed prior to their breakup where Chris, 30, discussed how he liked his then girlfriend, 30, to look.

Host Alan said: ‘Now Maura is looking gorgeous tonight, but you like her when she’s a bit less glam?
Chris replied: ‘I do yeah, I like her when she’s in baggy clothes, cleaning a little bit… I don’t know why.’
‘You like her cleaning?’ Alan asked to which Maura jokingly added: ‘With my rubber gloves on’.
Chris agreed, saying: ‘It’s just kind of my thing.’

Alan joked: ‘So why’s that? You’re a bit lazy and pervy?’
‘A perfect balance of the two I think, yeah…’ Chris answered as Maura laughed.
The awkwardly timed interview comes just weeks after the pair announced they have gone their separate ways.
Maura and Chris met on the 2019 series of Love Island but did not get together in the villa and only began dating after the show.

The duo, who went public with their romance in November after months of secrecy, took to Instagram to reveal they had split.

‘There is no wrongdoing on either side… we still love, care and respect each other deeply.
Ex files: The pair announced earlier this month that they had decided to go their separate ways
‘From the minute we met each other we’ve been very close friends and that will never change. There is no regret, life is about taking chances.
‘We wanted to make this work but we have realised we work better being friends. Whilst I appreciate people may speculate or create false stories this is the truth.
‘I wish Chris nothing but the best and I will always be one of his biggest supporters. Thank you for all the love and support’.
Meanwhile, the statement released by Chris read: ‘Hey guys, after some very heartfelt conversations over the past few days, myself & Maura are very sad to announce that we have decided to part ways.

Matching: Chris also released a statement in which he hit out at trolls once more
