2Day FM announces key reshuffle just six months after launching a new breakfast show hosted by Erin Molan, Ed Kavalee and Dave Hughes

2Day FM has undergone a key reshuffle, with the changes effective immediately.

According to a report by Radio Today on Wednesday, the radio station has appointed Mathew ‘Eggo’ Eggleston as the Sydney outpost’s new content director.

It comes just six months after 2Day FM launched its new breakfast radio show, The 2Day FM Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin.

Eggleston previously worked as the music director at SAFM, Fox FM, 2Day FM and the wider Hit Network.

He also worked as the content director at Hit105 in Brisbane, before assuming a national role as the Hit Network’s national operations manager.

Before being appointed content director, Eggleston briefly worked as the content manager for 2DayFM.

He stepped back after Simon Greally was appointed creative director of the radio station.

Greally has since left the role, creating an opportunity Eggleston to return to 2Day FM.

‘Eggo has 2Day FM in his blood, his true passion for the station and brand is obvious, and he will inject his enthusiasm into the 2Day product and shows,’ said the head of Hit Network, Gemma Fordham.

‘It’s an exciting time for 2Day with our new The Morning Crew with Hughesy, Ed and Erin breakfast show, and we are looking forward to having Eggo on the team.’

Meanwhile, Eggleston said it’s been his ‘dream’ to work at 2Day FM ever since he was a ‘young kid’.

‘I’ve had the pleasure of working here on multiple occasions already over my time in radio, but nothing compares to getting the keys to the station as the content director,’ he said.
