  • They claim when officers had arrived to the scene, they found the 47-year-old actress behind-the-wheel of a Mercedes-Benz while pulled off to the shoulder 
  • The law enforcement source claims that Somerville had told police that she had just ran out of gas but cops said that she reeked of booze
  • She was then given a field sobriety test which she ended up failing 
  • The publication was told that she was cited for DUI before later being released

Bonnie Somerville, who starred as Ross’s love-interest Mona on Friends, was arrested for DUI over the weekend.

According to law enforcement sources for TMZ on Tuesday morning, police were getting calls around 10pm on Sunday night for a car stopped in traffic on the 405 freeway near Inglewood.

They claim that when officers had arrived to the scene, they found the 47-year-old actress behind-the-wheel of a Mercedes-Benz while pulled off to the right shoulder.

DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Somerville and has yet to hear back. 

 The law enforcement source claims that Somerville had told police that she had just ran out of gas but cops said that she reeked of booze.

She was then given a field sobriety test which she ended up failing.

Somerville is best known for her guest role on season 8 of Friends in which her character Mona dated David Schimmer’s character Ross Geller.

She starred in seven episodes of the series from 2001 to 2002 as it detailed the tumultuous relationship between the two which was rocky due to Ross being the father of Rachel’s (played by Jennifer Aniston) baby.

The actress went on to star as Detective Laura Murphy on NYPD Blue over 20 episodes from 2004 to 2005.

Years later she starred on another CBS drama, Code Black, as Christa Lorenson over 18 episodes from 2015 to 2016.

The relationship with CBS did not end there as more recently she starred as Paula Hill for three episodes of Blue Bloods in 2020.
