Big Brother mastermind Daniel Hayes reveals takes a swipe at ‘self-absorbed’ Katie Williams

The intense rivalry between Big Brother housemates Daniel Hayes and Katie Williams was a major storyline before she was sent home last week.

And on Monday, Daniel revealed why the pair didn’t get along in the house.

The Geelong-based real estate agent, 43, told Daily Mail Australia: ‘This isn’t a physical experiment. This is a social game and she was outplayed.’

He added: ‘The reality is that a lot of people are too self-absorbed and too consumed with themselves to be themselves.

Daniel went on to say: ‘Katie only cared about how she was going to be portrayed. The cameras don’t lie; I think it’s either a good edit or a bad edit.

‘It’s just editing, what you see is who people are, so you can either take it on board or you can whinge about it and and get your sour grapes.’

Speaking of his feud with Katie, Daniel continued: ‘The reason me and Katie didn’t get along is because I’m all about being fair.

‘Katie and Jess [Trend] would whisper who to vote. As soon as someone had won a challenge they would grab them and tell them who not to vote for.’

Daniel said he and the other housemates were sick of hearing it, and just wanted her out of the competition.

Daniel went on to defend his decision to put the fitness blogger up for nomination, which ultimately sent her home.

‘Let’s be clear, I didn’t vote Katie out,’ he said. ‘I loaded the gun; her own alliance took the shots, not me. So that’s something for her to reflect on post eviction.’
