One of the more famous Islas is Aussie actress Isla Fisher, who has rarely been out of the headlines since relocating to Sydney with her husband Sacha Baron Cohen several months ago.

Her unique name has proved to be quite the hit with parents-to-be, who have been searching the name online while looking for inspiration.

Isla climbed three positions after placing fifth last year.

Meanwhile, Aurora – the protagonist of Disney’s classic animated film Sleeping Beauty – is a first-time entrant in the top five.

Channel Nine presenter Sylvia Jeffreys welcomed her first-born son Oscar – whose name is third on Nameberry’s list – back in February 2020.

Oscar’s proud parents, including dad Peter Stefanovic, often share cute updates about their son on Instagram, which may have inspired Aussie parents to consider the name for their own baby boys.

Bec and Lleyton Hewitt’s 15-year-old daughter Mia is currently making her start in the fashion industry, and her name is proving to be equally fashionable.

But the most searched-for girl’s name, according to Nameberry, is Luna.

The name is believed to have grown in popularity thanks to celebrity couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s five-year-old daughter Luna Simone.

Meanwhile, Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester’s baby Arlo has inspired many parents since 2015, and now ranks number one for boys.

Short male names ending in ‘o’ have exploded in popularity across Australia in recent years, making it no surprise that Arlo is the country’s most searched-for boys’ name.
