Rose Byrne flashes her abs on the cover of Shape

Rose Byrne has reflected on motherhood and getting through quarantine with yoga and homemade cocktails as she graces the June 2021 cover of Shape.

The Australian actress, 41, was a sight to behold on the cover of the glossy, where she put her gym-honed abs on display in a butterfly embellished top.

The Neighbors star looked stunning with a voluminous head waves, side-swept fringe, and a radiant touch of makeup.

Rose’s naturally stunning complexion was accentuated with a tint of blush, lip gloss, and a touch of mascara.

The makeup, however, seems to be a rare occasion for Rose, who admitted to ditching her beauty routine throughout quarantine.

‘All my beauty routines have gone out the window,’ Rose, who shares sons Rafa, three, and Rocco, five, with partner Bobby Cannavale, said. ‘I spend my days covered in markers, Play-Doh, and flour.’

Despite being busy raising two children, Rose has still found time to exercise during lockdown.

‘Exercise is a juggling thing with small kids. I’ve been taking a lot of long walks and hikes. All that cliché stuff. And doing yoga, which I started when I was 15 and rediscovered during quarantine. I try to do it every day for 15 to 20 minutes. It’s a great way to quiet the mind.’

Another way Rose has been passing the pandemic time is with her newfound hobby of cocktail making.

‘I got into being an artisanal cocktail waitress,’ she told the site. ‘But I’m really slow at it. For me, it’s time consuming and labor intensive. My husband [actor Bobby Cannavale] will be like, “I’ve been waiting for 25 minutes.”‘

After welcoming their sons, Rose struggled finding that balance between work and family.

‘Motherhood is such a profound change — from the physical experience of it to raising the kids. It’s so different for everybody, and I think it’s really hard for women to talk about it. There’s so much expectation and shame around it; it’s very complicated. But it’s also the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.

‘It did change my career ambition. It streamlined things in a clear way. But there’s the struggle of trying to prioritize both: Am I doing enough at home at the moment? Am I staying fulfilled at work? The balance of work and home life is such a personal experience. I don’t judge anyone.’
