How to tell if someone’s REALLY from Sydney’s eastern suburbs

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has finally laid to rest longstanding debate over the correct way to pronounce the Sydney suburb of Mosman.  

Reading aloud an advertisement on Monday’s episode of The Kyle & Jackie O Show, Jackie, 46, pronounced the exclusive suburb as ‘Mozz-man’.

Her bemused co-host, Kyle Sandilands, interrupted her and clarified: ‘We call it “Moss-man”.’

‘It’s so far away from Jackie, the eastern suburbs. She’s like, “Where is ‘Mose-man’? Where is this place they talk of, ‘Mose-man’?”‘ the 49-year-old joked. 

But Jackie insisted that her pronunciation of the suburb was correct, and said that’s what the locals call it.

‘If you live in Mosman, you say “Mozz-man”. If it was “Moss-man”, it would be spelt with a double “s”,’ she maintained.

Meanwhile, Jackie herself is a longtime resident of Sydney’s eastern suburbs, and last year purchased a home in Woollahra.

According to a report by Domain in June last year, Jackie splurged around $11million on the luxury property dubbed ‘Cooper Park House’. 

The purchase came after Jackie and her ex-husband Lee Henderson sold their Vaucluse family home in March last year for $6.675million. 

The renowned media personality was married to Lee from 2003, before announcing their shock split in October 2018. 

While the exact purchase price was unknown, the property was put on the market with a price guide of around $10million, but real estate agents expected it to fetch closer to $11million. 

Jackie had apparently been looking at properties in neighbouring Bellevue Hill before settling on the Woollahra home.
