Brutal moment Sam Pang asks Josh Lawson whether he ‘made $11’ from starring in Mortal Kombat because ‘no one goes to the cinema’ in brutal HYBPA roast

Sam Pang landed in hot water with Australian actor Josh Lawson during Monday night’s episode of Have You Been Paying Attention?

Josh was guest-starring on the weekly quiz show to promote his new blockbuster Mortal Kombat when the comedian cheekily questioned whether anyone had even seen the film.

The brutal moment occurred after host Tom Gleisner announced to the panelists that Josh was starring ‘in the number one movie at the box office, Mortal Kombat.’

Sam piped up: ‘Tommy, did you say number one at the box office? But people aren’t going to the cinemas at the moment, are they?’

‘So, Josh, what did the movie take last week? $11?’ he said, prompting a sea of chuckles from his fellow panelists.

Josh chuckled to himself at Sam’s sassy remark for a moment, before staring him down from across the room.

‘I’m only joking! Jesus!’ Sam exclaimed, raising his hands defensively.

‘I like a laugh as much as anyone, mate,’ Josh hit back, to which Sam jokingly replied: ‘it doesn’t look like you do!’

‘Oh, just a cheeky $30 million. But don’t worry about it,’ Josh nonchalantly replied, sending the panelists roaring with laughter.

As of May 4, Mortal Kombat has grossed over $90M in box office sales worldwide.

Josh stars as Kano in the video game spin-off, a hardened criminal who takes sadistic glee in bloodshed.

‘As an actor, it was easy to play [Kano], because he never felt ridiculous,’ Josh recently told Screenrant

‘There’s a real reality to it… And you don’t want to know the people I’m basing Kano on. They’re bad guys. They’re Australian. That’s all you need to know.’
