Monica Bellucci transforms into a witch while filming The Befana Comes At Night 2 in Italy

She’ll put a spell on you! Monica Bellucci, 56, trades red carpet glamour for a ratty grey wig as she transforms into a friendly witch for The Befana Comes At Night 2

Monica Bellucci ditched her trademark glamour on Tuesday as she got to work on her latest film in Italy.

The actress, 56, got to work on the set of forthcoming movie The Befana Comes At Night 2: The Origins, where she plays the Good Witch Dolores.

She was barely recognisable as she relaxed between takes in a ratty grey wig and matching coat whiled clutching a witches broom.

Into character: Monica Bellucci sported a long grey wig and witches hat as she got to work on her latest film in Italy

Monica sported a bandolier across her chest with what appeared to be veils of potions and what looks like grenades on her coat as she got herself into character.

The actress was additionally dressed for her role as the kindly witch, who devotes her life to children, in a long black skirt and grey waistcoat top.

As filming continued the star appeared to be using her broomstick as a weapon while throwing herself into an intense looking scene.

Produced by Lucky Red and Rai Cinema in collaboration with Sky, the new film serves as a prequel to the Italian language La Befana vien di notte (The Legend of the Christmas Witch), which Monica did not star in.

The forthcoming move will also star Zoe Massenti, Alessandro Haber, Herbert Ballerina, Corrado Guzzanti and Fabio De Luigi.

Filming commenced in Italy on March 1st, with the movie expected to be released towards the end of 2021.

Leading lady Monica has been in a relationship with Nicolas Lefebvre, 36, since May 2017, four years after her split from ex-husband Vincent Cassel.

All change: One could be forgiven for failing to spot the glamorous actress during a break between scenes on the set

The actress first confirmed she was seeing someone in an interview with Paris Match last November, but stayed coy about her partner’s identity.

Admitting they had been dating a while and things were going well, she said of her new man: ‘The man I share my life with doesn’t have the same job as me, but he travels a lot. His rhythm of life complements mine.’

Asked whether she would consider getting married again, the former Bond girl kept her cards close to her chest.

She said: ‘When you’ve been married twice before, you need to take time to think about it before starting over, to understand why it happened and why you divorced. Let’s just say I’m in a learning phase at the moment.’

Monica was married to fashion photographer Claudio Carlos Basso from 1990 until 1994, and then Matrix star Vincent Cassel from 1999 until 2015.
