Miranda Lambert tears up during her ‘first show back in over a year’ in Texas since the coronavirus lockdown: ‘I missed y’all so much’

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to wane throughout the United States, people everywhere are experiencing reentry anxiety — and that includes celebrities.

Country star Miranda Lambert posted a TikTok video of herself clearly getting emotional at her first public concert in over a year on Friday, from a show in Fort Worth, Texas last week.

The singer, 37, was seen wiping her eyes while on stage at the venue known as Billy Bob’s, while the exuberant crowd cheered her on and sang along to her hit tune The House That Built Me.

She captioned over the video, ‘first show back in over a year. I missed y’all so much’.

Miranda was also seen hugging bandmates on stage.

Lambert was heard telling the crowd, ‘no matter what I’ve ever done in my career and what I’m still gonna do, somehow I still feel most at home on a barstool under a neon sign.

‘I walked in here and I took a little tour around, and I just felt so at home,’ she added. ‘I remembered why I do this and why I missed y’all’s faces so damn much!’

The Bluebird songstress also posted about the night to her Instagram, including three lovely shots from the show.

She wrote in the caption, ‘We’re back y’all! We did our first 3 shows @billybobstexas last weekend and we had a blast! Thanks to everyone who came out. The warm welcome back to the stage with the band after over 400 days sure felt good!

‘Loved getting back to my old stopping grounds. ❤️’ she continued. ‘See y’all next weekend for 2 more! #homestate #texas #ontheroadagain’

Lambert and her band enjoyed three sold-out nights at the venue last week, and they will be back for more performances this summer.

The performances come as Miranda is coming off of a victorious night at the ACM Awards, plus a recent win for Best Country Album for Wildcard at this year’s Grammys.
