Cameron Merchant snatches baby son Oliver away from the clutches of a curious lizard as the pair enjoy a day at the pool on the Gold Coast
Cameron Merchant was enjoying a day by the pool on the Gold Coast on Monday when a curious lizard left him scrambling to keep his baby son safe.
The Married At First Sight star had little Oliver laid out on a sun lounge by the water when a scaly local resident came over for a look.
In a video shared to Instagram Stories, Cameron nervously laughed as the lizard popped over the edge pf the lounge and eyed him and his son.

After considering his options, the new father decided it’s best to sweep his son out the way of the animal, and scooped Oliver up in his arms.
He did show his respect to the beast, saying ‘see you later legend!’ as he made his escape.
Cameron and his wife Jules Robinson welcomed their first child, baby boy Oliver, in October last year.

They recently spent their first Easter together as a family, and Cam shared a photo to mark the occasion – which featured Jules fast asleep as he watched the cricket with their son.
‘Happy Easter from our little family to yours!’ he wrote alongside the image.
‘Usually we would manage a nice lunch family shot.. but cricket gets in the way today unfortunately (Sorry hun) so here’s me just now taking a family shot whilst Jules still trying to sleep & Ollie wants to start his Easter egg hunt!’
