On Saturday’s show, comments previously made by George about other celebrities will be read aloud, including a remark about Madonna, 62.

George reportedly once referred to Madonna as a ‘vile, hideous human being with no redeeming qualities’.

Reflecting on his words, George will say: ‘It’s not something I would say now… it’s really just, I’m actually a bit embarrassed I said that.’

He’ll add: ‘Madonna… she fascinates me. I love Madonna. Come on, how can you not? Of course I do. She’s my contemporary. I’ve actually just sold some paintings of Madonna that I did.’

The musician then concludes: ‘I’ve not had the good sense to do that [work with her]. Could happen though. I wasn’t joking. Imagine me and Madonna on a record, it would be amazing come on.’

Looking back on the decade, the Everything I Own singer tells Jonathan: ‘That person is someone I created. I treat Boy George from the 80s as a sort of cartoon character.’

He continues: ‘I’m not that person. I do a lot of paintings of Boy George as I think of him as an invention… He’s a different person.’

As for turning 60 in June, George reveals he intends to ‘drop 60 songs for my 60th birthday’ adding that he’s been ‘working furiously [on them] for a year’.

Despite the milestone, the star insists he still feels like a teenager.

‘I still feel like a teenager really,’ he begins.

‘And act like one a lot… Some people grow into themselves and some people grow out of themselves. For me as I’ve got older, I’ve started to like myself more and I’ve sort of become a gentler person and more compassionate.

‘When you’re more compassionate towards yourself, then you’re more compassionate to everyone else, which is a nice thing.’

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday 24 April at 9:35pm on ITV.
