Police break into hot car to save two dogs left without water and just a crack in window while owners went on shopping spree

Police officers gained access to a hot car this weekend to rescue two dogs trapped inside without any water and just a slightly cracked open window for air.
Staffordshire Police officers from Cannock said the dogs were in danger of overheating and dehydration when they spotted them yesterday at the McArthurGlen shopping village in Cannock, Staffordshire.
The black and white dogs were shut inside with nothing to drink and only a slightly opened window to help with ventilation.

The officers managed to gain access to the vehicle and get to the dogs without damaging the car, and took them to a nearby police station.
Photos posted on social media showed the two dogs sat happily in the back of the police vehicle as they were taken back to the station.
The incident has been reported to the RSPCA.
Posting on social media Cannock Police said: ‘Another example of dogs being left in a vehicle parked at the new outlet, on a hot day in Cannock…without any access to water.
The officers managed to gain access to the vehicle without damaging it in order to take the dogs away and save them from the heat
The officers then took the dogs back with them to their police station and posted on social media to inform their owners that they were available to be collected
‘If you want to know how hot it gets in the car with a window cracked open and the engine off… you can try sitting in the car yourself.
‘We’ve managed to pop the door open without damage, and these very hot & thirsty dogs have been taken to Cannock Police Station, should the owner wish to collect them.’
The million-pound shopping outlet opened on April 12 with dozens of designer brands including Levi’s, Tommy Hilfiger, and BOSS located inside the village.
