RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under drops outrageous trailer for the Stan Original series… which promises plenty of laughs, shade and drama

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under is headed to streaming platform Stan on May 1.

And judging by the show’s outrageous trailer, the Australian and New Zealand queens are set to deliver plenty of drama and laughs.

In one scene from the trailer, Ru tells Coco Jumbo that her costume is ‘rotten’, leaving the other queens shrieking with laughter.

‘If there’s anything I love it’s putting on a f***ing show!’ Coco later adds. 

The eight-part series will be the first time there has been a local version of the hit Drag Race franchise here in Australia.

RuPaul himself will be hosting, with drag icon Michelle Visage and Australian comedian Rhys Nicholson by his side on the main judging panel.

Celebrity guest appearances will be announced soon.

The 10 fierce Aussie and Kiwi queens competing to be Australasia’s first ever Drag Race Superstar were revealed live at the 2021 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

The queens who will be racing down the runway soon are: Anita Wigl’it (Auckland, NZ), Art Simone (Geelong, VIC), Coco Jumbo (Sydney, NSW), Elektra Shock (Auckland, NZ), Etcetera Etcetera (Sydney, NSW), JoJo Zaho (Newcastle, NSW), Karen from Finance (Melbourne, VIC), Kita Mean (Auckland, NZ), Maxi Shield (Sydney, NSW) and Scarlet Adams (Perth, WA). 

Stan Original Series RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under is an 8×60′ World of Wonder production in collaboration with Warner Bros. International Production New Zealand for Stan in Australia, TVNZ in New Zealand and WOW Presents Plus.

RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will premiere May 1, only on Stan, with new episodes weekly.

All previous seasons of the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise, including the U.S. and British versions, are available to stream now on Stan.
