Discussing how he feels about becoming a dad, she said: ‘We’re just getting on with it as the best we can , it’s one of those things we’re so excited about.

‘That’s primarily the focus now, it’s just as well to be honest that I’ve got two jobs to go back to as I’m going to need them!’

When asked how he’ll fit in his two West End jobs with impending parenthood, he replied: ‘It will fit in, it has to. I’m just turning into an official grown up now!’

Last month Danny and Carley, 38, made the baby announcement in a sweet Instagram video on Mother’s Day, in which they showed off a sonogram.

Sharing the identical video, they both captioned their posts: ‘Possibly the greatest thing we’ve created since we put Nutella between two salt & vinegar Pringles.’

The cute clip featured the words ‘coming soon’ before cutting to a photo montage of Danny and Carley laying out their hands next to their dogs’ paws.

A sonogram picture then appeared on the hands, confirming the couple’s good news.

It will be the first child for the couple, who began dating in 2011 and finally tied the knot in 2017 after six years of romance.

Both Danny and his wife are ex-Hollyoaks actors, with Danny playing Mark Savage in the soap until 2015 and Carley portraying Steph Cunningham until 2011.

Danny is set to take to the stage once more in Pretty Woman: The Musicals later this year, while he’s also set to appear in The Mousetrap.

Speaking further about Pretty Woman: The Musical returning to theatres, Danny explained to Ranvir: ‘We previewed for about three weeks and then we were officially open for two weeks, it was the start of the third week the Monday night that we were told we were shut down.

‘I thought it was only going to be for a couple weeks, but here we are still, a year later.

‘The parameters just kept shifting along, so it was maybe even a month ago that we got told the dates. Fingers crossed it will be the official date so we can crack on as planned.’

He added of the show: ‘It’s the same story that everyone knows and loves and wants to see, but it’s done so tastefully.

‘Jamie Mitchell, who directed the show, he’s got a great history of putting films on the stage, and they’ve all been such hits.

‘It’s like he gets your favourite moves and wraps them up in glitter and heart, he comes round and gives you six bottles of champagne and makes you enjoy that movie all over again. It’s really a gift he has to do it.’
