Jarrod Woodgate reveals he’s ‘taking time off work to focus on his mental health’

The Bachelorette‘s Jarrod Woodgate has revealed he’s taking time off work to focus on his mental and physical health.

The 34-year-old reality star said he’s taking a break from work after being diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder, depression, adjustment disorder and anxiety.

‘Four weeks ago I decided to leave @tomscapvineyard and move up to Darwin to be with my beautiful girlfriend @samroyceee. I have decided that 2021 is going to be dedicated to focusing on my mental and physical health,’ Jarrod wrote on Instagram.

‘As some of you already know, for the last few years since I was medically discharged from the army – I have struggled to cope with every day life,’ he added.

He continued: ‘I have finally got some answers and have been diagnosed with PTSD, depression, anxiety and adjustment disorder, as well as ankle, knee and back injuries.’

Jarrod revealed he has become an ambassador for F45 gym and physical training has improved his ‘mental health and well-being’.

‘I’ll use Instagram as a bit of a journal to keep you all posted on my journey – with F45, food, psych, relaxation, medication, lifestyle and more! The good, the bad and the ugly!!’ he said.

‘I’ll try my best to be completely open with where I’m at and hopefully my honesty will help some of you too. Can’t wait to look back on this in a year and see how far I’ve come.’

It comes after Jarrod revealed he was moving to Darwin to be with his Bachelor star girlfriend Sam Royce last month.

The former reality star announced the happy news on Instagram along with a photo of the pair kissing.

‘I have some very exciting news! I’m making the move to Darwin to be with my beautiful girl!!!’ he wrote.

‘Yesterday we signed the lease to our beautiful place and I’m so excited to call it OUR HOME!

‘Sam, you are amazing in every way and I can’t wait to start this next chapter in our life together. Love you so bloody much!!!’
