A woman who suspected that her boyfriend of a year and a half was cheating on her has revealed how she busted him for infidelity by enlisting a friend to entrap him via text so she and her dad could confront him in a hotel.
Jade Hik, 24, from Canada, detailed the sneaky plot in now-viral TikTok and YouTube videos in which she shared footage from the awkward encounter with her now-ex-boyfriend, while revealing how, and why, she initially set him up.
According to Jade, she first started to grow suspicious of her boyfriend when she discovered that he had been regularly texting an ex-girlfriend, however she chose not to confront him about it, explaining that she ‘is one of those people who likes to give the benefit of the doubt’.

Under fire: The boyfriend, whose name is not known, had unknowingly been texting with a friend of Jade’s, who began flirting with him to ‘test his loyalty’
However, after discussing the matter with some friends, one of them offered to test Jade’s boyfriend’s ‘loyalty’ by texting him flirty messages to see whether he responded.
‘I caught my ex-boyfriend of about a year and a half texting his ex-girlfriend behind my back,’ she explained in her YouTube video.
‘I’m one of those people who likes to give the benefit of the doubt so I did not confront him about this. I don’t know what they were saying or what they were talking about. I just left it.
‘Then a couple of weeks later I was hanging out with one of my girlfriends and her friend – her name is Hayley – and Hayley decided that she was going to test his loyalty. So she texted him from her number and he bought it, he played along.’
Jade says Hayley continued to text her boyfriend, ‘pretending that she wanted to get to know him’, with the pair exchanging increasingly flirty texts, before making plans to meet up in person for the first time.
But rather than arrange to get together at a restaurant or over a coffee, Jade says her boyfriend booked a hotel room where he planned to meet Hayley – all the while completely clueless that she was setting him up.
‘He booked a hotel for them to meet each other,’ Jade recalled. ‘Once he booked the hotel, he goes there, texts her when he gets there – this was a couple of weeks after the whole him texting his ex behind my back situation.
‘So then he’s expecting Hayley to show up at the hotel to meet him.’

But instead of Hayley, it was Jade and her father who knocked on the door of the unnamed cheater’s hotel room – much to his surprise.
In a video of the awkward moment, the man – whose face has been shielded to protect his anonymity – answers the door to find Jade and her father, and simply stands there in the doorway while they call him out over his behavior.
‘Instead of Hayley showing up, it was my dad and myself,’ Jade explained. ‘We called him out, everyone expected there to be violence and for us to get physical but that is not at all what happened.
‘We taught him a lesson verbally. That’s all we really wanted to do. We weren’t there to hurt anybody, we just wanted to get our point across that you don’t mess with anybody, and you don’t cheat on anybody, it’s not worth it.’
She then played the original TikTok video of the confrontation, which begins with footage of her dad waiting outside the hotel room.
Jade’s boyfriend is seen opening the door while on his phone, wearing a red North Face hoodie and a black baseball cap.
‘What’s up motherf*****,’ Jade says, while her dad jokes: ‘I’m Hayley.’
Making very clear that their relationship is done for good, Jade then chimes in: ‘I’m Jade. Also your ex-girlfriend.’

To his credit, the boyfriend does not attempt to flee, or slam the door in their faces – even after Jade’s father sternly states: ‘I’ve got a few things to say to you right now. You ready for this?’
Instead, the man leans on the doorframe, puts his hands in his pocket, and prepares to face up to Jade’s father, nodding in understanding as he tells him off.
‘You don’t go back to that house, ever,’ Jade’s dad warns. ‘Understand? Ever. Unless you have an appointment. And you better have a f*****g appointment. Understood?’
Jade’s ex nods in response, and says: ‘OK, I understand.’
Her father then delivers his parting shot, saying: ‘Tonight, you’ll be j*****g off just so you know. There is no Hayley. Hayley is her friend. You f****d up, d***head. Have a nice night.’
Unsurprisingly, the video of the encounter quickly went viral on TikTok, racking up more than 660,000 views and hundreds of comments, many of which were praising Jade’s father for his stern treatment of the man who wronged his daughter.
In response to the outpouring of support, Jade later shared another video – this time with her father, in which he jokingly wore a giant plastic fist and thanked all of the viewers for their kind words.
‘I just want to say thanks to everybody for the kind words and I just wanted to let you know that, as a father, I would do anything to protect my kids,’ he says, before holding up his giant fist.
