Mena told Access in January that they were naming the baby Christopher Alexander ‘after my husband’s father who passed away when he was really young.’

She met Michael while they acted in a 2016 Hallmark movie called I’ll Be Home For Christmas where he was an assistant property master.

They tied the knot in secret in 2018 and this October she announced that she was pregnant with their first child.

In an interview Mena candidly revealed that her biological clock had been on her mind while she was trying to conceive.

‘I’m 41 and there’s this air of like, I’ve got one foot in the grave and good luck,’ she told People about how she felt during that process.

Eventually after she and Michael spent a bit of time trying unsuccessfully she decided that ‘I can’t do this anymore. I’m so tired of stressing over this.’

She explained: ‘I was trying to feel like if it’s meant, it’s meant. I was being really open like the Aquarian that I am – if this is my path or not.’

Mena headed off to Georgia for a professional gig and decided to devote her attention to acting – only to then begin feeling pregnancy symptoms.

‘At first I thought I was having jet lag because I’m really sensitive. By the end of July, I had a couple of other symptoms and I decided to take a test and there it was. It was a huge surprise, an absolute miracle!’ she gushed.

‘I’m trying to just take it day by day and not get overwhelmed. We get so ahead of ourselves. So I’m taking it moment by moment,’ she shared.

Mena tied the knot for the first time when she was scarcely 21, marrying The Cable Guy cinematographer Robert Brinkmann who was 17 years older than she.

That first marriage lasted from 2000 to 2005, and then she was married to concert promoter Simone Sestino from 2010 to 2012.
