Gwen Stefani, 51, ‘hollas back’ to the pep rally in video for Slow Clap remix featuring Saweetie

On Thursday, three-time Grammy winner Gwen Stefani announced the premiere of the music video for her Slow Clap remix featuring hip-hop diva Saweetie.

In it, the 51-year-old pop star appropriated a high school pep rally in the ‘hood vibe, which launched her as a solo artist thanks to collaborations with Eve, Dr. Dre, and Pharrell.

In fact, the entire Slow Clap video harkened back to Gwen’s Hollaback Girl video from 2005, so it’s clear she was trying to recapture the same teen spirit.

Teamed up! On Thursday, three-time Grammy winner Gwen Stefani (R) announced the premiere of the music video for her Slow Clap remix featuring hip-hop diva Saweetie (L)

The 27-year-old NoCal native even referenced it in her rap lyrics: ‘I ain’t no Hollaback b**** / Now I got it I ain’t got to act rich / They be yelling cause I’m so attractive.’

Saweetie (born Diamanté Quiava Valentin Harper) twerked up a storm and flashed considerable underboob cleavage, which was certainly a first for a Gwen Stefani video.

At one point, the Best Friend hitmaker and the Orange County Girl donned chiffon gowns to jump on a trampoline together in the gymnasium.

Gwen rocked her signature red pout, faux-ny ponytail extension, excess of gold jewelry, and talon-like nails as she played patty-cake with a pink-wigged Saweetie.

After a gaggle of girls wearing Anaheim T-shirts expertly demonstrated double dutch with two jump ropes, Stefani gave it her best go with a single jump rope.

The USC grad also nervously grinned as she hopped over a single jump rope for the same sequence.

The former No Doubt frontwoman’s reggae-pop earworm originally dropped April 9, and it should appear on her upcoming fifth studio album, Let Me Reintroduce Myself.

On Thursday, Gwen – who boasts 25.4M social media followers – Instastoried snaps of herself enjoying a ‘crazy studio night’ alongside at least three collaborators.

‘I’m still writing [my fifth studio album],’ Stefani told GMA last week.

‘I think that’s what’s been really fun about this project is being able to drop singles and actually still be working on new music as I’m doing – that’s new for me, so that’s kind of what I’m doing right now. Just in the studio writing and being creative.’

For their duet Nobody But You, the former Dairy Queen employee and her fiancé of six months Blake Shelton are nominated for the music event of the year trophy at the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards, which air April 18 on CBS.

The three-minute lovefest marked the inseparable couple’s third song together after Go Ahead And Break My Heart in 2016 and You Make It Feel Like Christmas in 2017.
